Why Is Writing A Blog Article Hard?

April 27, 2015 by Lynda Kenny 8 Comments

Choosing A Home Based Business - What Mattes? Why Is Writing A Blog Article Hard?

If you can talk you can write a blog article.  We Baby Boomers have been around for some time, so we have quite a lot to say don’t we?

I may be simplifying things a bit, however, I do think many people who market themselves often over complicate blog writing.

Why is blog writing so hard for some people?  In todays post I want to offer some tips that might make it a bit easier for you.

  1. Start a Swipe File

Even seasoned blog writers sometimes face writers block. This is where it’s just hard to come up with ideas on what to write about.

The swipe file is based on collecting potential blog article ideas for the future. When you come across a good blog title, an email message that catches your eye, or somebody else’s blog you want to go back to, put that in your swipe file.

When you know you should be adding fresh content to your blog and you are just not sure what to write about, take a look at your swipe file and it will get your creative juices flowing.

     2. Book mark your favourites

If you spend 10-15 minutes a day reading articles on your favorite blogs you’d be surprised at how that will help you be a better writer.

    3.  Practice makes perfect

Join a handful of writing sites and just sit down and write as many articles as you can.  iWriter, Hire Writers, Real Writing Jobs, and many more sites need content right now and you can earn some money while honing your blogging skills.

     4.    Numbered lists

You can probably tell I like to write numbered list articles.  Do it like this and it makes things a little easier.  This is an easy blog template to follow because you need an introduction, a handful of primary points that are numbered, and a closing paragraph. This helps keep you organized and on topic, and is a fast way to write quality articles. Why Is Writing a Blog Article Hard

     5.    Focus on one theme

Many times people are in multiple niches at one time.   Although this is a good strategy for making money long-term, it’s not a good strategy for new blog writers. When you’re jumping around it’s tough to get a focus going and that can really affect your ability to write good blog articles.  Stay focused on your chosen niche.  For instance, I aim my blog articles in the main, at baby boomers.  Start a blog on something you have a passion for and focus on it. If you do this you’ll find blog writing much easier and enjoyable as well.

These are five tips to keep in mind if writing a blog article is hard for you. Ultimately if you don’t like writing you could always hire a freelance writer. Before you do that though,  give yourself a chance to see if you can unleash the blog writer inside of yourself.

Great post and I like numbered lists too. It makes a clear blog post. I also agree that sticking to one niche is key. Ray has always said that too so we don’t confuse the readers.

Hey Lynda, great post! I feared blogging early on because I thought it was something only great writers should attempt. No I know that’s not the case of course, so I think this topic is one everyone who is thinking of blogging should read. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Krista. Thanks to Rays training I also collect headline ideas from magazines and other articles I read. It’s good to store them somewhere in case you forget. Glad you liked the idea.
