What Are The Best Social Media Platforms?

What Are The Best Social Media Platforms? What Are The Best Social Media Platforms?

Lots of people, including baby boomers are starting to flock to social media just like the rest of the world. They are finally starting to see the benefits and convenience of social media.

The good news is that there are plenty of different social media platforms that they can choose from which gives them a ton of options. In this article, we will be going over three of the best social media platforms for baby boomers.

1. Facebook

Facebook is probably the easiest and most newcomer friendly social media platform out there. The reason why it is such a good platform is because the interface is very welcoming and it is really easy to know and/or be able to figure out how to do something.

This allows for a high adoption rate of baby boomers, for instance,  to the platform because it is so incredibly user friendly. Also, it happens to be a very popular social media platform because it gives baby boomers are great way to connect with old friends, grand kids, family members, and more.

It is a very solid platform for people of all ages. However, it is good for baby boomers that are just getting used to social networking. Best of all, it is available on literally every platform including mobile systems.

2. LinkedIn

This is another great social media platform that a lot of baby boomers are beginning to use. Whether they are out of work, looking for work, or simply looking for other opportunities and connections, it is a great way to get your name out there.

By using LinkedIn, people have the opportunity to connect with all kinds of different professional people from various walks of life. This is a great way to expand their connections and create new business relationships.

3. Snapchat

Why did Facebook spend $19 Billion Dollars to buy Snapchat? Because people of all ages are using it now!

A lot of people might assume that this is mainly for the younger generation. While a majority of its users are younger, a lot of other generations are beginning to see the advantages of using Snapchat, particularly if they have grand children or other kids that they want to keep track of.

It allows for an easy upload process and a quick way to access short clips/videos/and pictures throughout the day. This is a good option for anyone with kids and/or grand kids that they simply want to keep tabs on and catch up with their lives throughout the day.

I have just begun using Snap Chat and so I am still getting used to it.  I did have a conversation with my granddaughter yesterday on it and she found it quite amusing to find me on there.

Other Social Media Platforms

Other Social Media Platforms include Twitter, which I must say is beginning to grow on me.  Its very different to the ones mentioned above but certainly worth looking at. Others to look at are Google+, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube.

All the above social media platforms – Facebook, Snapchat, Linkedin, Twitter ,Google+ Instagram are not only good for keeping in touch with people, they are excellent platforms if you are an entrepreneur running a business.  Any platform online, that gets you in front of more people has got to be good for any business.  Just think,  Facebook has over a billion users so there is plenty of room for you to reach more and more people.

My favourite is Facebook, so simple and easy to use.   It is thanks to that particular social media platform that I have been able to make new friends and connections literally, all over the world.  Friends who I have now had the pleasure of meeting for “real” at training and company events.  It has made my so called “retirement” years full of purpose and great times.  Its why I call myself the “reawakened” entrepreneur.

Go have a look – experiment and find which one is your favourite.  Remember, master one before you move on to another.

You’re right that social media is great for your business, and its important that we choose our social networks wisely. However, what we post on social media is ultimately more important. You can plan out a month’s worth of content using a content calendar. Learn how here: https://www.hostgator.com/blog/include-social-media-calendar/
