Many baby boomers are great, even skillful, at networking. I know I like to interact with people online in various ways.
So, how could you turn that skill into making money with a home business?
One way many people are successfully building their home business is using the Internet to network in various ways. This works especially well for home businesses that thrive on relationship building.
Anyone who does Internet marketing knows how it can be boring at times sitting in front of a computer. One exception to that is when you begin to network on the Internet.
1. Social networking.
Social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter have really played a big role in bringing people together on the Internet. Many baby boomers prefer just to network with their friends without any ideas of making money.
However, if you have a home business opportunity that you are excited about, some of your Internet friends may be excited as well. You can use your Facebook account to provide updates on what ís going on in your home business.
You can also make tweets on a regular basis to your Twitter followers. Depending on the number of followers you have, you can receive a tremendous amount of free exposure doing this.
With over a billion users, Facebook is used by many business owners now. In fact, it makes sense to do so.
2. Discussion forums.
Discussion forums are another excellent source of potential people to network with. Forum marketing is a proven way to make contact with potential business partners.
For example, baby boomers who are promoting a network marketing business, like I do with World Ventures, can link directly to their sales page or landing page in their signature file on any forum post they make. This is a non-threatening way to give exposure to your business and prospect without actually approaching people directly.
Both discussion forums and social networking sites provide an excellent avenue for you to grow your home business opportunity networking on the Internet.
There are many discussion forums in Linkedin, in addition to those on Google+ and Facebook.
Whatever medium you use, networking with people on in the internet is crucial to building relationships and allowing people to get to know who you are. It should be treated in a similar way to networking in person albeit with the written word initially. Once you get to know someone though, you can opt to speak to each other by telephone using Skype or Google Hangouts.
The beautiful thing about the internet is that its allowed us to reach far more people than traditional methods used before. For instance, many people I am connected to are in other countries to my own and its not a barrier any more.
So, get networking today!
