Who is your Target Market – Your Avatar?
Following on from my previous blog post “I Finally came of Age” I wanted to share with you the importance of understanding who you are targeting in your marketing.
I have been working online for two years now and I have changed my mind numerous times. When I began, I chose younger people and then I moved on. Mixing and matching is ok, providing you send the right “message to market”. For instance, if you were selling women’s make up, you would not be marketing that to men, necessarily.
It is important for you to get to grips with who you want to work with. For instance:-
- How old are they?
- What gender?
- What are their hobbies and interests.?
- Where do they live?
- Do they have a home business already?
- Are they Network Marketers or Affiliate Marketers
If you are someone selling weight loss products you would search for places where they gather. Groups on Facebook for weight loss etc. Once you know where to look, then you can discover what their problems are. What are they struggling with?
When you have gathered all that information then you be their solution. You be the one providing answers to their problems. Find out as much as you can and tap into the minds of your prospects.
Visit the websites of your competitors and study what they are doing. Learn from successful people and watch what they do and how they do it.
Most of all, invest in your education and get much more knowledge on this subject and much more. The more you learn the more informed you become.
See your education as a wise investment and not just something else to pay for. It will help you with your personal and professional development and put your business on a sound foundation for years to come.
I hope that helps in some way and if you need to ask me anything shoot me a message anytime.
