Social media prospecting is important to master and also teach to other people.  Teaching what not to do not only helps your brand.   It helps their brand and the reputation of the industry of network marketing itself.

Its important to know that I got my own training from Jessica Higdon at an event earlier this year.  Jessica has produced a very good course called the 10k Social Media Recruiting Formula .  This is well worth a look if you are serious about social media prospecting.

Social Media Prospecting:  Things To Remember

A.       Social Media is not an advertising billboard

B.       Don’t pitch until you find a pain or a need within your prospect

C.       Teach any new team members what to do on Social Media

D.      LISTEN more instead of selling.

E.      Leave people higher than when they met you.

F.      The Number One goal is to get people to talk about themselves.

G.     As Soon as you find the pain, get them on the phone

H.     Focus on gratitude and appreciation.

Social Media Profile

Don’t use your company name anywhere.  YOU are the brand.

Give value.  Entertain.  Inspire.

Your Goal should be to serve your audience

Stay interesting

What to do When Making Contact

Go to someones page or profile and say something personal.  Something like this:

“Hi Lynda, thanks for the like (or comment)  I noticed……….. include what you noticed”

Ask if you can send them a friend request.  Keep the conversation going by showing a real and genuine interest in their story.  You could check out their profile and mention something you noticed about them.  Maybe they have children, or they recently went on holiday.  Make it personal.

When in conversation with someone, be in a servant mode.  You are there to help where you can.  Get people into your world.

Consider someone a lead if they friend request you and interact.  They have requested your friend ship for a reason.  Find out what it is.

Reach out in a private message.

Keep it simple.

Aim for 2-3 good connections a day.
