Slamming other companies or the word I use is “slagging” is just not acceptable or professional in my opinion.
If you want a good reputation online then slagging other companies to promote your own is the not the way to go.
It can damage your online reputation and online presence and is unethical. In the “real” world, it could be seen as slanderous.
In the long term it will do you no good at all. Anyway, I feel strongly about this so I did a video to express my views about it in the hope it stops people doing it.

Hi Lynda,
I could not agree more. When I entered the field of sales many years ago, I was taught to communicate our value to prospects without ever mentioning the competition. People who bought from me did so based on what we had to offer and most of them became long-term clients. Thanks for doing the video.
Hi Susan , thank you for that. I was the same in my previous business. There was no way we would criticise our competition to gain sales.
It’s good to know that there are others like you, who feel the same way.
Lynda
Linda – I so agree.. you never look good when you criticize others publicly. We need to put ourselves out there so that your business looks good ( and you as well ). I haven’t seen a lot of what you are talking about and I am glad.
Hi Terry,
I saw what I was talking about on Facebook last weekend and one time, well more than once, on linkedin .
It is so unethical isn’t it! Let’s hope it does a little good.
Thank you for visiting my blog, I appreciate it.

Lynda,
This is such an important issue and one many companies just don’t understand.
I was taught, like you and Susan, to promote our own values.
Personally, I wouldn’t buy from someone who put other companies down to promote their own.
It’s so short sighted and unprofessional.
Thanks for the videos
Heather
Hi Heather, thanks for stopping by. You are so right. It is an important issue and like you I would not want to work with anyone who practiced this way.
Have a lovely Christmas

I couldn’t agree more. I am very ethical when it comes to my business and I expect others to be the same. Unfortunatly there are many people who just don’t get it. I’m glad I created TWOF and to be a Zen platform to share our expertise and business. Great video! Thank you for sharing!
Hi Nathalie I really appreciate what you said. I too try to be ethical at all times . I am glad you created TWOF , too many groups on Facebook are just full of hype with no discussion.
Happy holidays to you and your family.
