How To Power Through Your Day

June 13, 2018 by Lynda Kenny 4 Comments

Power Through Your DayHow To Power Through Your Day

Power through your day and get through it energised and alert!

Is that something you would like to do?

Let me share some tips so you can feel like this every single day.

Power Through Your Day – Morning

Before even thinking about checking your email or social media, do some stretches and get yourself a drink of water.

Have a healthy breakfast – something to give you energy such as oatmeal and fruit.   Its all about putting fuel in your tank.

If you take them, and I highly encourage you do, take your morning vitamin supplements.  I take some twice a day.  (These are the ones I take)

Maybe you are someone who works out, so mornings are good to do that.  If you don’t, how about a morning walk?

Mid Morning

Remember to get up and walk about, giving yourself a stretch and have a drink of water.

In fact, set an alarm on your phone to remind you to drink water and get up every 50 mins or so.

Lunchtime

Power through your day

Superfood sandwich with whole grain bread, avocado, egg whites, radishes and pea shoots on wood board

Make sure you eat a healthy lunch.  Maybe an iron rich one to give you some energy, protein too.

An example would be turkey, salmon or tuna on whole grain bread.

Don’t forget to drink.

Enjoy the break and have some thinking time.  You could practice some meditation or just chill out a bit.

Mid Afternoon

Do some energy exercises and get up out of that chair again.  I have a great one for restoring your energy levels and it takes two mins:

Stand up.

Breathe 20 times through your nose keeping your mouth closed. (smile while you are doing it and clap your hands)

You could also jump up and down at the same time.

When your done with the 20 breaths, clap your hands five more times and say “I’m ready”

Seriously, don’t laugh, it works!

AND it only takes two minutes.

You could do this every hour of your working day.

Drink more waterEvening

After enjoying your healthy evening meal, take your daily vitamins again.

Watch a funny program and have some laughter.  Its been proved to make you feel rejuvenated.

Later on, have a good old soak in the bath, or a power shower.

Before Bed

Put away your devices at least an hour before sleep.

Make sure you get your full 8 hours and tomorrow you will wake up more refreshed.

Simple tips aren’t they and I write them for me as well as you to remind me to do this or something similar every day.

If you are someone who lacks energy and feels lethargic, it could be your diet.  There are foods I have found that make me feel bloated and heavy which definitely sap my energy.

A nutritious complete diet, higher in nutrients will improve performance and concentration in whatever we do.

It’s amazing isn’t it how what we eat can affect our whole day

Great Post Lynda – for me it is a high protein breakfast – and I work out in the evenings 4 days a week – but something that I have been trying to make sure I get is 7-9 hours of sleep also – for years I have been running on 4-6 and always tired — it is a big change

Thanks so much Baxter. I agree about the high protein in the mornings. If I dont have it I feel very sluggish all day. The sleep I definitely get my 8 hours now, much more than I used to. Occasionally I am up late for a webinar but thats a huge improvement from when I was up a lot of nights in the past. It all affects our performance during the day. Plus I like feeling healthier. I appreciate your input. Thanks again.
