Mastermind Events: To Learn AND Have Fun
Mastermind events are events I dreamed of attending. Until joining Ray Higdon’s Top Earner Club coaching programme, I had never attended one.
In this post today I wanted to give you a run down on my recent trip to Florida to attend Rays mastermind retreat. Retreats are part of a package of mastermind events we get as members.
Mastermind events take some planning for me.
Although I’m from the UK I spend a great deal of time living in Portugal. Travelling from Portugal to the United States takes some planning. We flew from Faro to Manchester, England and stayed overnight so we could catch a Virgin Atlantic flight to Orlando the next morning.
Not only is it exciting to go to mastermind events, the travel to different places is also an adventure. This time even more so because we were staying in a hotel , The Gaylord Palms, which was close to the Disney parks.
My husband came with me this time and we went a few days before the event so we could chill after the long haul flight. Plus we wanted some fun visiting Disney.
Florida in July
Hot and humid with plenty of afternoon thunderstorms is how I would describe it. Then, when you’re inside, you’re freezing with the air con, lol.
Take a wrap or jumper to keep you warm if you’re going to sit in a room with the air con on. If you wear glasses like me be prepared for them steaming up when you go outside again ha ha.
My husband and I enjoyed Disney’s Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom before the mastermind began. This was despite the heat, the queues and the late afternoon thunderstorms.
The hotel was huge and totally fabulous! It provided transport to the parks which was a bonus.
The mastermind event itself.
The mastermind retreat is for members only so we get to enjoy an intimate three days together.
Two days of solid training and a third day which is a fun adventure day.
Not only did our coach, Ray Higdon gives us a ton of training , there was input from other members.
Can you imagine sitting in a room amongst some of the biggest leaders in the network marketing industry? People like Diane Hochman, Simon Chan, Todd Burrier, Taylor Thompson and her husband Larry, the co founder of Herbalife!!
It was an awesome experience. The quote below describes the exact thing what I mean.
Everyone in the room is playing big and determined to succeed. That’s why each and everyone invests money in their education and coaching.
Everyone who succeeds in what they want to do, do so with the help of a coach and furthering their knowledge.
Information Shared By Ray Higdon and Members.
We got back to basics and were reminded that despite the internet, people are people and that has never changed.
It never will.
Building relationships and serving the people we want to help is something that has to be done when when building a business.
Quite often we are pushing what we want on to other people. Instead, we should be concentrating on what THEY want. We have to remember that not everyone wants to be a top earner. Quite often, its the need to earn a little extra cash to pay their bills. AND that is fine, absolutely fine, if thats what they want.
Everyone in your team, who you recruit or work with should have equal value. Wether at the top of your team or further down, it doesn’t matter. Each person is a human being who will go at a pace that THEY want not what you want.
If you put pressure on them to fulfil your needs they will eventually quit.
The video below that explains this a little further.
It’s all about creating a culture within your movement, team or group that has a good feeling for everyone involved. They get so much value from it that they would never want to leave. If you teach this to others then it spills throughout and your culture is one of support, value, and safety for all.
We were given input on leadership, team culture, and from one of our members, Todd Burrier information on how to look after your health and relationships and not to ignore them in order to make money.
Soraya Goddard gave a great talk on leadership, using her experience from her career with the armed forces. This led to a good and positive discussion about how to lead and how not to lead.
It goes without saying that we had a ton of information shared by Ray Higdon himself, on branding, social media, prospecting and recruiting. My head was buzzing with adrenalin by the time day two finished.
Friends and Connections
Apart from the fabulous training you get in an intimate setting its also outside the training where networking can be done. You get the opportunity to make positive connections and friendships that really help you with your business. There are some talented people in any mastermind setting and utilising their knowledge is priceless.
Ray also arranges a fun day at the end of all his masterminds. In the past I have been to the Kennedy Space Centre, Ringlings Circus training school and this time it was indoor Sky Diving. Unfortunately for me, having a back problem I couldn’t do the Sky diving. However it was fun to watch. The adventure days also are fun and a good team building thing to do.
I hope that by reading this post you appreciate the idea of mastermind events. If you get the chance to attend one I highly recommend it.
My huge thanks go to my coach Ray Higdon for providing a fabulous setting and for the awesome training.
