(Infographic) #10 Things People Regret Before They Die
It may seem a bit morbid to show you this infographic and talk about the things people regret before they die, however, its important to learn from others and try to make improvements in your life so you have no regrets before you die. If there is one thing we are sure of, its that we all do die in the end.

#10 Things People Regret Before They Die
-
I Never Pursued My Dreams and Aspirations
-
I worked too much and never made time for my family
-
I should have made more time for my friends
-
I should have said I love you a lot more
-
I should have spoken my mind more instead of holding back and resenting things
-
I should have been the bigger person and resolved my conflicts
-
I wish I had children
-
I should have saved more money for my retirement
-
Not having the courage to live truthfully
-
Happiness is always a choice, I wish I knew that a lot earlier
How many of us reading this can relate to one or more of the above statements. Isn’t it important now, in the prime of our lives to make some time to reach our dreams.
“Start working towards your goals now: don’t keep putting things off until its too late”
I can definitely relate to the second one. I have worked long hours, sacrificing time with my family. I used to tell myself that everyone would reap the benefits and to be honest they have. The following quote sums it up from the infographic:-
“Excessive dedication to work causes a person to spend less time with their loved ones. Parents can even miss out on the lives of their children, because they spent the best years pursuing careers and making money”
Have you noticed that as people get older they appear to get more sentimental about things? When my parents were younger they rarely said “I Love You” , it was always assumed they did. Nowadays, my Mother always ends a call with “love you”.
Failing to save enough money for retirement and leave people in difficult situations.
“While you are young, you might not yet grasp the reality of retirement, but its important to make a plan for yourself. Be careful not to spend too much on things you think you need now: think about providing a comfortable life for yourself in the future.”
We all know that the current economic situation around the world has probably made this a bigger reality for even more people, particularly current Baby Boomers who are heading for retirement. Many of them are looking for alternative ways to increase their income due to their pensions or savings not being enough anymore.
Happiness is always a choice, I wish I knew that a lot earlier
“People rarely realise that they can choose to be happy. Its so easy to play the victim of circumstance and prevent yourself from moving on in your life. You tend to settle for mediocrity because its familiar: you pretend to be content because you are too afraid to explore.
Make a choice to have a happy life. Be unafraid of change, and don’t worry about what others think of you. Learn to relax and appreciate the good things.”
I thought the last quote was a good one to end todays post on. I hope you enjoy reading the other quotes in the infographic.
