How To Serve People And Prospect On Social MediaHow To Serve People AND Prospect On Social Media

To prospect on Social Media AND serve people at the same time its important to follow a few guidelines so you get it right.  Its also important for you to grasp these simple rules so you can teach any member of your team the same.  If members of your team don’t prospect on social media in the right way, it can damage your brand and that of your company.

VIDEO ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND PROSPECTING

Things to Remember If You Prospect On Social Media

Social Media is not an advertising billboard.  I would advise you not to use your company name anywhere.

  1. Give Value
  2. Have a professional profile
  3. Your goal should be to serve your audience and followers
  4. Stay interesting

Don’t pitch your business till you find a pain or need that you can help with.

Unfortunately, many people who do prospect on social media are too busy selling instead of listening. Your role is to get people to talk about themselves in order for you to get to know them and for them to get to know you.  Its through these conversations that you will find their pain or need and together you can discover ways in which to help.

What To Do When People Like Or Comment On Your PostsSocial Media

Reach out to people who like and comment on your posts.  Say something like ” Hey, I noticed you liked my post on………”

Look at their profile and find out who they are so that when speaking with them you can mention something personal.  They may have picture of their family or been on holiday.  There may be something you notice that you have in common for instance.

I prospect on Social Media myself and the other day I noticed someone who had liked one of my posts was ex Royal Navy.  So is my husband, so I was able to mention that to begin a deeper conversation.

Keep Things Simple

Reaching out and making conversations is how to prospect on social media.  It really is that simple

build relationships on social mediaLearn about others and remember, its about THEM not you.

Leave people higher than when they met you.

Focus on gratitude and appreciation

Be INTERESTED not interesting

Have a servant heart.  If you use this approach to prospect on social media you will have the opportunity to help more people, build relationships and create a big following.  7 out of 10 people will say no to your primary business.  However, you may be able to help them in other ways if they are looking to build a business.

One last thing…….. treat people in the way YOU would like to be treated.
