Friday Ramblings and Thoughts
After my last blog “Lynda’s Tuesday Musings”, I was wondering what to write about today. So, I thought I would do some “ramblings” about a few things.
Just as I was thinking about what to write I saw a fish, jumping out of the water. I have a lodge in front of a lake you see. I was sat thinking and all of a sudden he decided to leap around. Each time the fish has done this, I get my camera out and then he stops. Haha, I never seem to catch him on film.
Back to ramblings.
For a long time, I have been advising people not to watch the news too much. Sometimes their sensational headlines and comments can cause so much stress. However, during the corona crisis, I found myself observing comments from others on various news articles.
Some of them got me so mad I was replying to some of them, which in turn got me angrier. I soon realised this was messing with my head.
Now, on social media, I scroll on by and feel much better.
When I think about some of the comments though, that’s when I realise that there too many people who think hateful thoughts. It’s scary sometimes when you see how many people think the way they do.
One day someone accused me of not valuing someone else’s opinion. That definitely isn’t true. We all have our own opinions and thoughts. What was missing for me was human compassion. I always try to see the good in someone.
When someone wishes someone else dead or doesn’t listen to reason, that disturbs me.
I am far from perfect though, I must admit. Although I have unfriended many people on social media lately.
This is a quote from my mentor and the man who trained me to be a coach:
“Be a guardian of your own mind, body, and soul” – Brendon Burchard.
It sums it up really doesn’t it?
I wonder what I will write next time.
Take care, stay safe.
