Are You In The Right Frame Of Mind For A Home Business?

August 24, 2015 by Lynda Kenny 8 Comments

Are You In The Right Frame Of Mind For A Home BusinessAre You In the Right Frame of Mind for a Home Business?

The mind is a big driving force for success and to be ready for your journey into the home based business world, you need to be in the right frame of mind.

Getting into the right frame of mind requires you to get rid of some myths and misconceptions about working online from home.

A lot of people at one time or the other may have considered leaving their 9 to 5 jobs and getting into their own home based businesses. Or maybe, they are someone like me who are supplementing disappearing savings and pension funds.

First of all, working for yourself is not the same as total freedom. This is where most people go wrong from the word go and end up failing in their businesses.

A home-based online business is the same as any other type of business and as such, it requires consistent
effort on your part. You will have to work
some hours every day in order to keep it running.

Getting into a home business thinking that you will be on vacation for a better part of the month and work for the remaining
 part is not quite right.

There will be no one to tell you what to do
and for most of the time you will be in
total control.

Approaching this with the right frame of mind will allow you to control your activities properly in order to ensure success.

You also need to be prepared to work hard.

What Can You Do To Get In the Right Frame of Mind? The B

In order to ensure that you start off on the right foot, try visualising what it is you really want, getting down to some real detail.

Ask yourself, do you want more money for holidays, a new car, and a new house; give up your 9-5 job etc.

Once you have this in your mind and you get it written down, the work involved in between will be a means to a successful end.

Ray Higdon, a successful and respected leader wrote a great post on his vision, which you can ACCESS RIGHT HERE

Even though there will be some work involved in the beginning, this does not mean you shouldn’t have fun.

I believe you will enjoy the work when you have a positive mental approach towards it.

A positive mental attitude will also allow you to do the boring stuff that helps get your business on its feet.

The boring tasks are important as well and when you accept the fact that they are necessary, you will be able to put a positive spin on it.

When you are positive, you will be able to overcome  minor issues that may get in your way and keep your focus on the bigger goal ahead.

There are going to be challenges you will have to get through on the way and with the right frame of mind your approach to them will be more helpful.

There are a number of things that you can do in order to develop a positive attitude in business and this may come in very handy during those times when you are feeling like everything is spinning out of control.

relaxTaking good care of yourself.

Whenever you feel stressed in the course of working from home, just leave everything and take a break. You are more important than anything else so you need to ensure that you take good care of yourself.

Remind yourself that your ultimate goal is to start a home-based online business and work your own hours. With this in mind, you will have something to focus on and to keep things in perspective.

Try detaching yourself from all kinds of negative thoughts that may impede your progress.

Instead of focusing on where you currently are, visualise where you want to be. With this frame of mind, nothing will get in your way.

Friends and family matter when you are looking to start your own business. Being there for you and providing you with the support you need matters a lot especially when you are going through a hard time.

Keep them close and tell them about your plans to start a new business asking them for their support.

The right frame of mind and a supporting family matters a lot so make sure you have them when you are getting started.

You also need to develop a passion for what you are about to get into.

Believe in yourself and draw from the success of others. There are many success stories of people who started their own home based businesses and are now able to take care of their families entirely from their businesses.

Throw away the false assumptions about starting a home based business being a walk in the park and get ready for some sweet hard work ahead.

If you have that frame of mind, then you are ready.

If you got some value from todays post Are You In The Right Frame Of Mind For A Home Business? feel free to share and comment.  I always appreciate it when someone does.

    Hey Lynda,

I like the fact you mentioned about visioning where you want to be. This helps me a lot as fuel when the going gets tough. It also the beginning for me to start my creative process as far as marketing and blogging!

Thanks for sharing and you have a good one!

Thanks so much Sherman for your comments. I do believe getting our vision right and picturing or imagining where we want to be is key. I learned a great deal about vision from Ray Higdon. When I began a business years ago, there was a vision of what we wanted the company to achieve. It really did get me through the darker days.
