Falling In Love With Yourself
Falling in love is a subject that will soon be on a few minds when Valentines Day appears next month.
Today though, we are going to talk about falling in love with yourself and not anyone else.
One thing we’re all guilty of is finding fault with everything.
When we look in the mirror, we don’t like the way we look, our hairs a mess, we’re overweight.
Seriously, if I look sideways in the mirror I cringe. I have for years.
What other ways do we find fault?
- I have nothing to wear
- This top looks ridiculous on me
- Brains and cleverness weren’t handed out to me
- I don’t feel good enough
- Success happens to other people not me
- They seem to have perfect kids, why are mine so naughty.
The list could go on.
In business, these everyday things can spill over from the way we personally feel.
Tips For Falling In Love With Yourself (for good)
1. Meditate every day.
I know this sounds alien if you’ve never done it before but if you can learn and do it, I promise you it will help. A good source for you to discover it is on the site of a woman called, Louise Hay. Sadly she has passed away now but her legacy lives on. You will love her website.
2. Look after Your Health.
We all eat the wrong things sometimes but deep down you know that eating healthier will help your overall health. I know that certain foods give me heartburn and make me feel bloated. This is not me saying you should go on a diet. Quite often they don’t work but be more mindful of what you eat. Drink more water as well. I have an app on my phone now to remind me to drink.
Yep, I forget to. I really do.
If you are like me and you don’t like the gym, go for a walk and get some fresh air.
I take daily vitamin supplements and I know they have helped me feel well and free of colds and flu this winter. Check out what I use here.
3. Take time out just for you.
Once a week at least, take yourself off and do something just for you. It might be shopping, out for lunch with a friend, a hobby, the cinema. Anything where you can relax and forget everything else. Even reading a book, while listening to some music, can be a good chill out.
4. Focus on what makes you happy.
If you’re an entrepreneur like me you can get bogged down with all the work you need to do to earn some extra cash. Yes, we have to do profit making tasks in our work, but don’t forget to do things that make you happy as well. Even if its chatting to your friends on social media.
5. Keep a journal.
I find it so therapeutic to write things down and I have a stack of journals and note pads. I like to write instead of type sometimes.
6. Be Grateful.
It’s too easy to concentrate on what we don’t have in life instead of looking at what we do have. You could begin each day by listing three things you were grateful for today and write them in your journal.
7. See the good in things and people around you.
We can nitpick at anything if we are in “that mood”. But if we dwell on the negatives all the time we forget the good things we have.
Its positive to believe that every person has something good inside him or her.
8. Value YOU.
You are unique, your inner thoughts and the way you feel about you is so important to your overall well being.
Read inspirational stories and books.
Watch motivational videos.
Do some courses on personal development and confidence and begin to like you more and more.
9. Take Care Of Your Relationships.
When we are wrapped up in the negative or busy with work, it’s very easy to ignore those around us. Make sure you make some time to pay attention to your loved ones.
10. Be kind To You.
Practice self -compassion more. Stop being so hard on yourself and give yourself some credit.
You are worthy of what ever you want as much as anyone else.
Believe that with all your heart. I know you want to be successful in life and it begins with you.
P.S. Don’t be afraid to be spontaneous now and then and do what you want when you want.
