Blogging: Does It Still Work For Your Business?

bloggingBlogging: Does It Still Work For Your Business?

Death, taxes, the sun rises in the east, and making money blogging are all things you can count on every day.

Without trying to be too funny these are all proven facts.

I happen to know you can make money blogging because its done every day.  My coach, Ray Higdon, has built his entire empire using his blog as a means of communication with his followers.

Blogging

There are plenty of business opportunities and plenty of blogs that waste most of their words trying to sell things and recruit people.

In my case I happen to feel that adding value to your life is a better approach to building an online business.

This is really what I want accomplish on my blog and I work at doing that all of the time.

As long as you’re willing to put an effort into your blog on a regular basis you can make money from it.

The easiest way to do that is a passive approach were people find the opportunities on your blog after they visit it for the content and that’s what I’m working at doing here!

Branding and BloggingBlogging

A blog is THE place where you can shine.  The most important thing is that you own it.  Its yours and your blog posts, videos and audios can stay on it for as long as you want.  This is different to Social Media which you will never own.

Whatever your passion is, your blog can be a reflection of that.   Lets just say you’re a health and fitness fanatic and you want to share your passion for that with everyone.  What better place than your own blog to do that.

You can really build a brand around any passion.  Mine is personal development, mindset, self esteem and confidence…. in fact anything that can help a person grow to truly believe they can do and achieve what they want.

What if you love travel?  You could have a travel blog, sharing the best places to visit and stories of your own travels.

Always ask yourself what you want to be known for… and build your blog around that.

There are many other ideas you could come up with.  I know people who are passionate about home improvements and they have blogs about that.

Building Your List of Followers

One of the other reasons for having a blog is to build a list of people you can communicate with after they have visited your site.  People on your list are much “warmer” than people who haven’t seen anything of value from you elsewhere.

You can build relationships with your “people list” and in time, they get to know, like and trust you.  The way to get people on to your list is to have something of value on your blog to give away.  For instance on my front page and in my side bar I have a Free Guide to Mastering your Confidence.

I have gained many leads with this and people have stayed loyal to me for a long time.  You can and could do the same.

Blog with intentNetwork Marketing and Blogging

Ray Higdon wrote a great blog post some time ago that is titled, 16 Secrets of My Network Marketing Blog To Get Leads

He isn’t in the network marketing profession now, preferring to concentrate on his coaching business.  However, his big purpose is to teach network marketers in order to raise the profession and help network marketers to grow and market in the right way.

Top earner status is what Ray achieved in his network marketing company and he would tell you that it was his blog where he got many of his leads.

Blogging is a more passive approach to growing your business and it is a marketing strategy.  It should not be confused with day to day prospecting which is different.  You can prospect anyone for your business.

When you are marketing, you have to decide who you want to attract.  For instance, if you are a single Mom, you might want to target other single moms.  Therefore, when writing on your blog, you will write TO them, tapping into the things you know will matter.

Follow the tips on Rays blog post I have shared with you on how you can monetise your blog better.

I hope this post goes some way to let you know that blogging can make you money in the longer term.  Its a great way to brand yourself the way you want and you do own it.

Before you go….

I did a Facebook live sharing some of the content from this article.  You can watch that by clicking the image below.
