Beliefs: Do Your Beliefs Hold You Back In Business?

Beliefs: Do Your Beliefs Hold You Back In Business?Beliefs: Do Your Beliefs Hold You Back In Business?

Beliefs are a feeling of certainty that something exists , is true, or is good.  Everyone has a certain belief about themselves and their ability to be successful.  Sometimes, they can hold you back in business and in life.

Its worth looking at what you believe deep down and the critical judgements you often make.

Getting to the root of your beliefs is where real personal transformation can begin.

What are the common beliefs many of us have when trying to be successful?

  1. I’m not good enough
  2. This is so hard, I can’t do it
  3. Asking for help makes me look stupid
  4. I can’t trust anyone, including me
  5. Its too late
  6. Its not my fault.

These thoughts, and what you believe keep you from growing. They could be subconsciously holding you back.  Some of what I cover today was inspired by The Purpose Fairy, which is well worth a read.

I’m Not Good Enough

Focus on progress not perfection – how far you’ve come, not how far you have to go.

Stop Comparing yourself to others – other people are wonderfully imperfect just like you.good enough

You are enough, just as you are.

Learn to love yourself more and you will begin to believe it.

“Telling yourself what a failure you are won’t make you any more successful, telling yourself you’re not living up to your full potential won’t help you reach a higher potential. Telling yourself you’re worthless and unlovable won’t make you feel any more worthy or lovable.

I know it sounds almost annoyingly simple, but the only way to achieve self-love is to love yourself—regardless of who you are and where you stand and even if you know you want to change.

You are enough just as you are. And self-love will be a little bit easier every time you remind yourself of that.” –

Madison Sonnier

This Is So Hard, I Can’t Do It.

Embrace each thing you can’t do and see it as a new challenge that you will overcome.  Don’t let this be an obstacle.  There are many places you can learn from on the “how” to’s and if thats not enough, think about having a coach or a mentor.  My coach encourages me to “figure it out”  AND you can, you really can.

Asking For Help Makes Me Look Stupid

No question is a wrong question and asking for help is not you being a failure.  What it shows is you want to know more.  You can’t learn if you don’t ask.  Stop worrying what people think and ask if you don’t know something.

Another thing is there can be a perception because you are seen as a leader that you have to know everything.  This is not true and it shows great strength to admit that and ask about what you don’t know.

I Can’t Trust Anyone, Including Me

We have to trust people in our families, our friends, our business and it begins with you.  You can’t ask people to trust you if you don’t believe and trust in yourself.

trustLuminita D. Saviuc suggests:

“Give up this limiting and toxic belief that you can’t be trusted, that the people around you can’t be trusted, and that life itself can’t be trusted.”

We all make mistakes and no one is perfect.  It doesn’t mean we can’t trust each other anymore.

If you have a team of people in your business, gaining their trust is critical, so learn to trust yourself and others.

Its Too Late

Its never too late.  I am in my sixties and still learning like crazy.  Rather than put my feet up and retire I chose to go on a learning curve.  Its added purpose and new meaning to life.  You are never too old to learn new skills and improve your life.

Its Not My Fault

You have to take responsibility and not blame others for your failure or success.  Its too easy to blame something else or someone else for not achieving what you want to.

By blaming someone else you are giving away your power so hold on to it and empower yourself with responsibility.

Your beliefs count more than you know and its worth exploring them if you want to go further in your business.
