Retirement means change. There is no getting around that.
For many baby boomers I see people afraid to retire because their jobs, their careers, define who they are. I totally understand that.
If you have worked in a particular career all of your life it is not easy to give that up. This is about more than money.
It is about a loss of who you have become. Your self worth has become defined by what you do and giving that up is a major decision you do not want to take lightly.
Let me offer my personal perspective on how you could deal not only with what you will lose, but how you could redefine who you are in the future after your retirement.
New Career Options
Leaving a previous job or career gives you the opportunity to launch a new you.
What if you could find something to do that is not only exciting, but gives you a chance to replace your career loss with a new career equally or even more exciting?
What if you were able to control your own future and not be tied down to a job or career? Would that excite you?
I know that baby boomers who live longer have options when it comes to leaving a current career. One of those options may even be staying where you are for awhile longer.
Nothing wrong with that, but in my experience when given options many of us are more then happy to start a new chapter in our lives if we could find a way to do that.
In my case starting a home business I could do online has been that replacement. However, there is another perk to this that could be just what you are seeking to help replace what you are losing.
Help Other Baby Boomers
There are millions of people just like you and me that are looking for something they can get excited about doing in their retirement years. The opportunity to teach baby boomers how to make money with their own home business is a very exciting and rewarding way to define your future.
