Online Marketing is a set of skills that you need to learn in order to have a successful home business. There are many things we all need to learn and its an ongoing process.
When beginning online marketing many people, including myself, usually begin with the idea of earning more money. Of course, the more we get into it, we soon learn that having money as the main focus is probably the quickest way of losing it and facing failure.
There are many ingredients for success when working online. For the purpose of todays post I am going to focus on 5 of them.
If you want access to the main components of what you need you might be interested in my Video Series – Success With Lynda. Everything contained within them are what I learned from my coach and mentor Ray Higdon.
Online Marketing:- 5 Ingredients For Success (Video)
Get Clear On Your Vision
Your vision is the single most important thing to begin with. Yes, ok, I know you want to know how to earn extra money and how to do things. However, if you truly get this part, then everything else will fall into place. It took me a long time to get this and once I did things began to change in my business.
What is it you truly want? What do you want to achieve? Why do you want it? Is it enough to keep you going on the tough days? You WILL have tough days.
A strong vision and belief is going to be the motivation you need to reach your goals and keep you going.
Ignore this part and I guarantee you will struggle.
Setting your vision is the very first video in my Success With Lynda series because it is so important. Remember, goals are not enough – they have to be coupled with a vision.
2. Invest In Your Education And Take Action
You have to see investing in your education as essential to your success. It will be key to your personal and professional development and will assist you in helping others to succeed. Understanding how marketing works and the psychology involved will help you to learn how to brand yourself online and how to attract customers to YOU.
“What do consumers need? Do they really need those things or do they just think they do? What drives them to actually take action and buy once a real or perceived need is identified?” (Forbes, March 2014)
Your role online is to help others, teach them what you know. If you don’t learn enough to teach and help others by providing the value they need then you are not going to go far.
3. Pick A Strategy And Master It
By strategy what I mean is, where do you want to establish yourself the most. A lot of marketers use Social Media. If that is you then you need to chose one initially and master it before moving on. Too many people have their fingers dipped in too many places and then overwhelm can set in, which will deflate you.
There are many trainings around on the use of social media in your marketing and its good to master the one you choose.
If you are going to attract people to your business and what you are offering then you have to decide who your target market is. Who will you be trying to attract?
These are key questions and will determine the type of content you put out on your chosen platform.
If you decide to have a blog like the one you are reading now. Use Social Media as a spoke to point people back to your blog.
If you are worried about technical challenges, outsource it to someone who knows what they are doing. Alternatively, join a programme that comes with a blog for you to use.
This is a great way to begin. I am a member and affiliate of one such programme and you can check that out by CLICKING HERE.
4. Avoid Overwhelm
If you join affiliate programs, master one before joining anything else. Believe me, at the beginning I thought I had to join everything because everyone else was doing so.
Overwhelm will stop you in your tracks. Even with your chosen company, you have to learn how to overcome overwhelm and not allow it to stop your journey. Learn to figure things out. Ask questions, get help. Believe me, many people have been where you are, including me.
5. Share Your Value To Your Target Market
The way to anyone’s business is to serve them. Provide value and information. Tap into what they are looking for and need. Become an authority in your field and pass on your knowledge to others.
“Invest, Learn and Teach” – Ray Higdon.
What ever training you watch, webinar you attend, take notes and use those very notes to create some content for social media or your blog if you have one. Remember, you are not providing this information for the established marketers around. You are providing it to those who are in earlier stages. People who are thirsty to learn what you know so they can do what you are doing.
Whatever network marketing company you are with, whatever it is you are doing, you need a marketing platform with the right tools to help you. Things like content, a blog, tools.
Why create your own, which can take months when you can join something that has it all there for you? Online marketing is a skill and learning how to do it in the right way is crucial to your success.
Something that will not only help you to grow and learn but also help you to recruit more people into your company. If you want to give the system I use a $10 test drive for 10 days, then check it out. The worse case scenario is you lose just $10.
