3 Things You Need to Perform Highly
Perform Highly? What we need to perform highly, is something I have learned today from Brendon Burchard. After watching the training from his book High Performance Habits.
My ears pricked up when I saw the first session in his series was about Abundance and Confidence. My loyal readers know that helping others achieve a stronger confidence is something I am passionate about.
In todays post, I want to share with you what I learned from Brendon in the training. The findings are a result of three years of research across the world with high performing individuals.
If you are someone who wants to become more extraordinary and take your life and business to another level, then read on.
If you decide to take notes from this blog article, you can either see it as information, OR as transformational for you. It could even become your mini manifesto. This was a great suggestion by Brendon during his training.
#3 Key Things to Perform Highly.
- Full Engagement
- Joy
- Confidence
1. Full Engagement
Ask yourself how “present” you are or have been in your work, relationships and health, for instance.
Brendon encourages that we work on being “present” and “engaged” all the time so it becomes a habit. Be engaged in your work, relationships and other things like health. Examples of this are when someone is financially successful but on the way, burnt out their relationships or didn’t look after their health.
To get into the habit of being present and engaged you can, as Brendon suggests, set yourself triggers. He always stands up when someone enters his office, reminding him to be “present” with that person. You can train yourself to be more engaged and present by setting your own triggers.
Remember, its never just one thing…. its a selection of strategies you can train yourself to use and become more engaged and present in everything you do. Full engagement is giving our absolute best so we feel fulfilled.
Do this and you will perform higher. It is something that is in YOUR control and is your own personal power.
2. Joy
When a person switched their attitude to joy it was found that they became happier and performed better. Abundance came into their life. They chose positive emotions over and over again. This goes along with a deep sense of gratitude. Have you ever heard of the term “Whistle while your work”? Its been proved there is a lot of truth in feeling joy while you are doing something. For example, you can witness joy in volunteers who are happy doing their work.
Just doing the grind makes everything suck. Its not all about hustle and grind, instead, bring joy to the grind.
You can “will” yourself to be happy and concentrating on what joy YOU bring to others in your world will help a great deal with that.
Tell yourself “What gets me through is joy”.
3. Confidence
Always approach your work with confidence. We believe that if we get more success, earn more money and experience we will have earned the right to be more confident. We wait for it to come to us instead of “willing” ourselves to be confident.
Choose to do something confidently…. “I am going to do this confidently”. Often, people want what they do to give them confidence.
Instead, step into the role of who you are and OWN it. Great leaders own who they are and tell themselves they are confident. That emotion of joy, engagement and confidence spreads to the people they work with in their teams.
No one gives it to you. You have to OWN it.

What you mentioned is so true. Thanks for sharing this
You’re welcome, thanks Sheena.
Joy is something we can’t express in full. As long as we are happy in what we’re doing, I firmly believe there’s magic that works in us.
I agree its something we can’t always express, its a feeling we can create inside and yes, its so important to be happy in what we’re doing. Thanks for commenting Jelena.
